Job Title: Part-Time Digital Copywriter 
Department: Brand 
Reports To: Creative Director

The Township is seeking a Part-Time Digital Copywriter to join our small team. The ideal candidate will be a wordsmith and a natural storyteller. You will have the ability to convey a brand’s message through various mediums, from campaigns to social media posts. You will be able to switch between different tones of voice on a daily (or hourly) basis, without ever losing the sense of purpose of what the copy is trying to convey. You will get the attention of the customer through long-form, short-form, headlines, emails, websites, blog posts, digital copy and anything else that comes along in between. The role is part-time: you will be in-house at our office in Preston 2-3 days a week. 

What you’ll be doing:

You’ll be part of a client-focused team across various brands, from false eyelashes to cookie dough to a national sports team, and you will bring to life a concept through integrated, cross-channel approaches. You will work with fellow creatives, account managers and marketing executives to help our brands better connect with its customers.

Your day-to-day will involve:

Like any job, every day is different, but that’s what makes it so exciting. You’ll be working across different platforms for various brands. One day you could be writing Facebook posts about hommus and the next day you might be writing an email encouraging people to buy raffle tickets for a charity.

Your roles will include:

  • Creating copy and content to support below-the-line campaigns across Google Search, Social Content, Social Advertising [Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn]
  • Write compelling and grammatically correct website, EDM copy and blog posts
  • Switching tone and brand voice to support our diverse clients
  • Bringing a passion for copywriting and presenting new trends to the brand team
  • Having a basic knowledge of best practice SEO copywriting 
  • Contributing to the conceptualisation of marketing and content ideas
  • Tailoring the content and style of individual tasks according to their purpose 
  • Researching your client and their audience

We’re looking for a copywriting whiz with a passion for digital marketing and social media. The newest member of our town must have:

  • Enthusiasm and passion for our clients and brands
  • A curious mind and be eager to learn
  • A love for words and culture. You’re always the first to know about the latest trends in marketing, social media and you’re always learning more about the interactions between behaviour, culture, digital platforms and products. 
  • A sharp eye for detail – your spelling & grammar must be impeccable
  • A collaborating spirit. You’re a team player who can work with our brand, digital and client services teams
  • Strong experience in digital and social media copy
  • A relevant degree in Journalism, Public Relations, Communications and/or Marketing, and 2+ years experience in an agency environment
